The Spirit of Glory Part I

What is the Spirit of Glory?

Ungers bible dictionary says that the Hebrew word for Spirit is:  "Rugh" which means: breath and wind.

It is the vital principle part of us that relates to God through worship and divine communion, spirit to spirit.

And what is God's Glory? it is:  The active and the outward manifestation of His dunamis power.  It is His divine attributes and perfection as it works and is displayed through the Holy Spirit.  It is an all consuming light that transforms us and fire that burns within us.  It's His power that creates, heals and brings His manifested presence. It exposes sin, overtakes the darkness and brings revelation into the midst of His people.

God's desire for this hour is to reveal His Glory unto His church.  We must come to maturity in the Spirit where we stop limiting God and see Him, not through the eyes of tradition or religion, but through the eyes of the Spirit.  He is searching for those who's hearts are longing for His manifested presence and believers who are not event orientated regarding the supernatural.  As a body of believer's we must discern when and where the Spirit wants to take us in a worship service.  We must learn to wait on the Spirit and allow Him to carry us into an atmosphere of His presence where His glory dwells.

In the beginning, Adam and Eve were created in His glory and God's plan was for them to live, walk and commune with Him in the garden (He in them and they in Him).  But when sin entered their hearts, that intimate communion was lost and as a result they were driven from the very presence and Glory of God.  In Romans 3:23 tells us:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

We lost the ability to walk in the manifested presence of God and because of a lack of understanding we haven't discerned the difference between the faith realm and the Glory realm. Faith can become works when we try and work up God's presence through the prophetic gifts of the Spirit and we think that it is our gift that brings the presence and move of God into a service.  Please don't miss understand me, I'm not saying that they are not needed or important, but what I am saying is that when you prophesy and move in the gifts of the Spirit we move according to our proportion of faith according to Romans 12:6

"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us,   whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith."

When we move in the faith realm, the gifts are manifested proportionally or you could say  measured, because we are moving in the realm of substance that has limitations.  Therefore we are not moving in the fullness, but when we learn to move in the realm of the Glory of God, like Jesus did, we will experience the manifestation of the gifts of the spirit in their fullness.

In John 17: 22 the scripture tells us:  "And the glory which Thou has given Me I have given to them; that they may be one, just as we are one."

Church, the glory realm is where we were created to dwell in and function from.  All too often we come to church and it seems as if the service never fully enters into the manifested presence of God.  The services becomes common, almost ritualistic as we continue to follow stick schedules that limit our time in His presence.  There is no revelation of Christ in the midst in order to perpetuate the manifestation of His presence.  When we pitch a tint and set up camp where we've become comfortable, God moves on, leaving us worshiping the residue of His last visitation.  What we don't understand is that His cloud of Glory has moved on, and we are missing out on what He has for us and wants to bring into the midst of His people.

And He is saying to His church:

Deep calls unto deep...hear the prophetic message...hear it proclaim My mysteries and recognize that it is the great "I AM" that calls you and summons you into My presence...for there is where you will see My splendor, My power and I will manifest myself to you in that hidden place in Me which is my Glory.  For I am bringing a visitation to my people but without the revelation there is no acceleration or manifestation of My Spirit.  When you enter into worship you will find Me and My presence will create an atmosphere for My Glory. Be a carrier of the Ark, which is my presence and not just a follower, says the Spirt of God.

In Genesis 28:16 tells us:  And Jacob awoke out of his sleep and said, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it."

*Wake up church and don't miss the visitation of His Glory; Hear what the Spirit is saying.

Rivers In The Desert Part III

Let's continue now with Part III of our weekly message.

Why has our thought life affected the flow?  Because of our negative and fruitless thinking.  When we're in that desert place, all we can see is self, and why? Because we're blinded by the dust clouds of doubt and beaten down by the winds of adversity.  This is how the enemy would want to bury your vision, stop the flow of His Spirit in you, cause you to loose focus and wonder around in confusion and fear. Isn't this exactly what Israel did for 40 years?

Another area that will stop the flow is when we become seduced into being complacent. What does it mean to be seduced into complacency?  Let me explain what these words mean so we can better understand how they work.

When the enemy try's to seduce us, his intention is to lead us astray from the path God has mapped out for us in the desert.  I can't take your path and you can't take mine, because He has designed certain valleys and hills of testings for you to cross and oasis of refreshing for you to reach.  If we become complacent in the process and choose to veer off the path and change direction, we walk out of God's will and into unprotected territory.

Once we've walked out of God's will (His path) we then begin to walk in the flesh and not the Spirit.  We allow our circumstances (our desert place) to overwhelm us and our fleshly nature takes over and we become self-seeking and self-centered.  Everything is focused on our needs, what we want and not the needs of others. The fire within us dwindles, we become dry and the flow of the Spirit is blocked.

So how do we press into God during those desert seasons? By being persistent in our pursuing God for breakthrough.  Not giving up, but pressing in and through like the woman who had the issue of blood that reached out and touched the fringe of His cloak and was made whole. The key decision the became a pivotal point in her desert place was when she reached out to Jesus as He passed by. You see, by her reaching out to the river of life Jesus, she moved from the dimension of her now (her sickness) into the dimension of her tomorrow(healed).  She had to grasp her moment in time as He passed by with His glory.

Another way we press into God is through praise and worship.  In Psalms 63:1-4  David the psalmist when he was in the wilderness of Judah, breaks forth into praise unto God and he says:
Verse 1:  O God, thou art my God, early will I seek thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.
Verse 2:  To see they power and they glory, so as I have seen in the sanctuary.
Verse 3:  Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Verse 4:  Thus will I bless thee while I live:  I will lift up my hands in they name.

When we focus in on Jesus in praise and worship, we open up a realm of His presence for healing, deliverance, transformation and breakthrough to take place.  We step out of the natural and into the supernatural where lies the faith realm, the realm of the anointing and the realm of the Glory of God. Faith builds our foundation so we can stand in that desert place......the anointing empowers us with strength for the journey......and the Glory of God calls us to walk in His fullness where there is rest, peace and where we tap into that river.

Beloved, God is calling us to walk in His fullness, but before that can take place maturity,  power, revelation and perceiving must be worked in us. God is wanting us, His church, to hear what the Spirit is saying.  He is telling us in Isaiah 43: 18, 19 & 20b.

Verse 18:  Do not call to mind (remember, go back or want) the former things, neither consider the things of the past.
Verse 19:  Behold, I will do something new (a new thing, new revelation), now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? (perceive, discern it)  I will even make a roadway (a way, path) in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.
Verse 20b:  Because I have given waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert to give drink to my people, my chosen.

     GET READY.....HIS GLORY IS COMING!

Rivers In The Desert Part II

As we've been talking about walking through those desert experiences, I'm reminded of the children of Israel and how stubborn and rebellious they were.

All through their journey in the desert we read of how they complained about every adversity they were faced with and were never satisfied.  Time and time again God provided them with water, manna, meat and even performed miracles to prove Himself to them and still they continued to grumble and wished they were back in Egypt, even though it represented a place of bondage.

In Genesis 26: 1-3, the scripture tell us:

Verse 1:  And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the day of Abraham.
Verse 2:  And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt, dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of.
Verse 3:  Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee.

God specifically tells Isaac not to run to Egypt where it would be comfortable, but to stay in the land to which He had led him.

When God leads us into that desert place we find that it's where scorpions dwell in darkness and vultures perch and wait to attack at the opportune time.  It's a place of warfare where spiritual battles are either won or lost. The desert is also a place where visions comes and where He prepares us for a new place, new season and where He allows the old to dry up so He can cause the new to come.

Many times when we find ourselves in times of dryness and testings, our natural inclination is to avoid the hardship and find an easy way out.  We don't understand that in that dry place is where God is asking us to dig deep for the wells within us and learn to draw from that river, so life can once again blossom in that desert place.

In the deserts of Israel, there are seven species of roses that grow.  One of those species of roses, after drying up because of lack of water, curls up and appears as dead, but revives when moistened.  This rose is know to be called "The Resurrection Plant".

Church, resurrection is coming in your desert place.  There has been much death in self, things of the flesh and things of the past.  Look out Church, for the resurrection of our spirit is about to take place and those dreams, visions and things you thought were dead are being revived and will live again in your heart.

                                                                         The Vision
Hear what the Spirit is saying!

I looked and I saw a very deep well before my eyes and as I studied it, I  noticed that it's walls were made of wood that were worn and discolored. They were all the exact height, width and had been layed side by side to form the walls. The opening of it was also of wood that had been formed and shaped into a circle that was large in diameter with a thick lip.  As I continued looking I could see not only into the well from the top but also at the same time I could view it from the front and could see straight into the well with a full view from top to bottom.  I then noticed just how dusty and dry it had become and I wondered why God was showing this to me?  And what did it represent?

The Lord let me know that this well was me and represented the dry place that He hand led me to. His purpose for this was to show me that during these times of testings, I would have to dig deep into my Spirit so I could find the refreshing water for my dry and thirsty Soul.  He also revealed to me that I could not depend on past refreshing nor would I be satisfied even if I could go back, but that He had put a longing in my heart to dig deeper into the things of the Spirit and by doing this, the walls would be rebuilt so they could contain this living water.

Getting back to Genesis 26: 12-15, 18&19 goes on to say that all of the wells that Abraham had dug had been gradually plugged with earth by their enemy the Philistines. And so the water that Isaac so desperately needed to quench his thirst had to be obtained by redigging the wells that his father had once dug.  If he had not of redug the wells that contained that life giving water he, his cattle, crops and family would have perished.

Question:  But what has stopped up the wells within you?

     1.  Has it been your thought life?
     2.  Have you allowed the enemy to seduce you into complacency and have you become dry
          and unfruitful?
     3.  Have you walked after the flesh and not the Spirit?
     4.  Is it not knowing how to press into God during these desert seasons?

Next week we will answer these questions.

Rivers In The Desert Part I

Our main scripture text for this weeks message is found in
  John 7: 37 & 38.

Verse 37:  In the last day, that great day of the
feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man
thirst, let him come unto me and drink.

Verse 38:  He that believeth on me as the
scripture hath said, our of his belly shall flow
   rivers of living water.

Right now I want to focus in on two words from verse 38 and 39, they are the words belly and rivers.

If we look up the word belly in the Greek, this is what it means:  A cavity, specifically the middle part of the abdomen and also refers to the innermost being or part of man which is "The Spirit"

And our second word "River" is defined as:  A volumious stream of fresh water that flows either permanently or seasonally in a natural channel.

Ok, we all know what a river is and what it looks like.  We also know that there are big rivers and there are small rivers. But the point I want to get across to you is that just as there are rivers in the natural, there are also rivers in the spiritual.

Almost all river water comes from rain or melted snow.  In some cases, water called surface rain off flows over the land to the river.  In other cases, the water soaks into soil and rocks that become ground water which is water beneath the surface of the Earth.  The ground water then moves slowly through the soil or underground rocks to the rivers.  This subsurface supply of water can keep a river flowing between "Periods of Dryness", (hear what the Spirit is saying).  In some area's there are rivers that over flow there banks during the rainy season, yet dry up almost as fast as they came.  And this act of God that functions in the "Natural realm" is what happens to us in the "Spiritual Realm".

Many times in the history of the church we've read about and maybe even experienced
great out pourings of God's Spirit upon His people.  We heard how it blessed and brought refreshment to the their thirsty Soul and Spirit, and that's a good thing, but we can't depend on movements or seasonal out pourings of the Holy Spirit to keep us refreshed and filled with the Spirit.

I know as believers we all have to experience those dry seasons and some of us will have to walk through a spiritual desert in order for God to prune us, humble us and test us, because in that desert place, is where character is born and ministry is created.  It's a place where faith is stretched beyond our own limitations and trust sees beyond our understanding.

All through the Old and New Testament, God used the desert experience to develop His qualities in the lives of great leaders and ministers.

Some example's are:  When the Holy Spirit lead Jesus into the desert to be tempted and tried by the enemy before He began His ministry on Earth.  And Paul also was lead into the desert to teach him, instruct him and prepare him for his destiny and purpose.  John the baptist lived and preached in the desert and was a forerunner of Jesus and used mightily of God.

Ungers bible dictionary says this about the desert:  In the desert is where sheep are driven, it's a wild uninhabited region, a sterile tract of country that looks like it couldn't support human life.  It's an unfruitful waste, a dry and thirsty land where rain is scarce and water is not accessed easily.  The water table may be hundreds of feet down and must be accessed by drilling and pumping the water that lies deep within the desert floor. Once those wells have been tapped into and begin to flow out onto the parched and thirsty land, the desert begins to blossom with life and a transformation takes place.

In Psalms 63:1 it tells us:  O God, thou art my God, early will I seek thee, my Soul thirsts for thee, my flesh longs for thee in a dry and thrist land, where no water is.

Is this your hearts cry today? Hear what the Spirit is saying!

I know all to well how difficult it is to try and press into the Spirit during these dry seasons.  You feel like your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling and falling to the ground.  You're wanting to tap into that deeper place with God, you feel dry and unsatisfied, yet there's a drawing, pulling and longing in your heart that says;  Deep Calls Unto Deep.

When we find ourselves in that desert place spiritually, it's vital that we learn to dig deep from the wells within us, because this is where the Spirit abides and where we must learn to draw from.  When we draw from something it means:  To cause to move continuously toward, to pull up or out of a receptacle or from the place where it has been contained.

If you find yourself in that desert place remember:  He has drawn you there for a reason and a purpose.  It's not a place meant for defeat and death, but for resurrection and life.

Next week Part II of our message and we will learn how to unstop the wells within us.

Blessings,

Elma Garlock
