Let's continue now with Part III of our weekly message.
Why has our thought life affected the flow? Because of our negative and fruitless thinking. When we're in that desert place, all we can see is self, and why? Because we're blinded by the dust clouds of doubt and beaten down by the winds of adversity. This is how the enemy would want to bury your vision, stop the flow of His Spirit in you, cause you to loose focus and wonder around in confusion and fear. Isn't this exactly what Israel did for 40 years?
Another area that will stop the flow is when we become seduced into being complacent. What does it mean to be seduced into complacency? Let me explain what these words mean so we can better understand how they work.
When the enemy try's to seduce us, his intention is to lead us astray from the path God has mapped out for us in the desert. I can't take your path and you can't take mine, because He has designed certain valleys and hills of testings for you to cross and oasis of refreshing for you to reach. If we become complacent in the process and choose to veer off the path and change direction, we walk out of God's will and into unprotected territory.
Once we've walked out of God's will (His path) we then begin to walk in the flesh and not the Spirit. We allow our circumstances (our desert place) to overwhelm us and our fleshly nature takes over and we become self-seeking and self-centered. Everything is focused on our needs, what we want and not the needs of others. The fire within us dwindles, we become dry and the flow of the Spirit is blocked.
So how do we press into God during those desert seasons? By being persistent in our pursuing God for breakthrough. Not giving up, but pressing in and through like the woman who had the issue of blood that reached out and touched the fringe of His cloak and was made whole. The key decision the became a pivotal point in her desert place was when she reached out to Jesus as He passed by. You see, by her reaching out to the river of life Jesus, she moved from the dimension of her now (her sickness) into the dimension of her tomorrow(healed). She had to grasp her moment in time as He passed by with His glory.
Another way we press into God is through praise and worship. In Psalms 63:1-4 David the psalmist when he was in the wilderness of Judah, breaks forth into praise unto God and he says:
Verse 1: O God, thou art my God, early will I seek thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.
Verse 2: To see they power and they glory, so as I have seen in the sanctuary.
Verse 3: Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Verse 4: Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in they name.
When we focus in on Jesus in praise and worship, we open up a realm of His presence for healing, deliverance, transformation and breakthrough to take place. We step out of the natural and into the supernatural where lies the faith realm, the realm of the anointing and the realm of the Glory of God. Faith builds our foundation so we can stand in that desert place......the anointing empowers us with strength for the journey......and the Glory of God calls us to walk in His fullness where there is rest, peace and where we tap into that river.
Beloved, God is calling us to walk in His fullness, but before that can take place maturity, power, revelation and perceiving must be worked in us. God is wanting us, His church, to hear what the Spirit is saying. He is telling us in Isaiah 43: 18, 19 & 20b.
Verse 18: Do not call to mind (remember, go back or want) the former things, neither consider the things of the past.
Verse 19: Behold, I will do something new (a new thing, new revelation), now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? (perceive, discern it) I will even make a roadway (a way, path) in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.
Verse 20b: Because I have given waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert to give drink to my people, my chosen.
GET READY.....HIS GLORY IS COMING!
Blessings,
Elma Garlock
